The philosophy of Distinctive Dog Training is to provide positive and practical solutions to behavior issues that
dog owners may experience. Through private in-home sessions and seeing the dog in his own environment,
a customized behavior and training program can be developed that is workable for the family and the dog. Teaching
the dog new and acceptable behaviors in his home accelerates the learning process by avoiding the additional stressors
of a strange place and multiple other dogs in a group class situation.
Some common issues that can be addressed include:
housetraining
separation anxiety
resource guarding
reactivity and aggression to other dogs or people
jumping up
chewing
barking
phobias
or just teaching good house manners

Through behavior modification, obedience training and positive reinforcement, your dog can learn to
be a well-mannered family member.
The goal of Distinctive Dog Training is to empower the owner with the skills in order to work
as a team with their own dog to resolve any current behavioral issues that exist today and the
knowledge of what to do for any future challenges that may arise. This is real-life training
tailored to meet your needs and the needs of your family and your dog.
The program is structured for 5 one hour in-home sessions. The first session will be an in-depth
consultation to share your dog’s history, discuss behaviors that need changing and to set realistic
and achievable goals. After that initial session, an individualized program will be developed and
implemented during the remaining home visits. You will receive personalized attention and the
focus will be on your dog’s success. Phone and email support are always available.
